OUT & ABOUT AT MESSINGHAM GRANGE

there is plenty to do around north lincolnshire!

SPOTLIGHT

Messingham Zoo is a family run business. The primary aim is to offer something different to larger zoos and wildlife parks by focussing on close up encounters with smaller, friendlier animals. Education forms a big part of what we want to deliver, teaching about animal care and welfare. The zoo is still being established but the vast majority of animals are now on display. New animal attractions are being added all the time as animals arrive.

COASTAL ADVENTURES

Spanning for more than 50 miles the Lincolnshire Coast is a hive of activity. With hubs of Skegness, Mablethorpe & Cleethorpes littered along the coast and plenty of attractions for all the family, a day trip to the beach is a great way to get some quality time!

Visiting in the latter months? Every November a huge grey seal population gather at Donna Nook for breeding season. Head to the coast during this time to catch a glance of the baby seals as they take their first shuffles into life along this outstanding part of the Lincolnshire coast.

HISTORY & CULTURE

For over 200 years', Lincoln Cathedral stood as the tallest building in the world. Completed in 1311, it stands proudly alongside it's 11th century neighbour, Lincoln Castle, keeper to one of only four original copies of the Magna Carta.

More recently, Lincolnshire was and remains Bomber County, home to over 50 bases at the height of WW2, 8 remain, and one of only two Lancaster bombers can be found at the Lincolnshire Aviation Centre in East Kirkby. It's a little under 50 miles away, but well worth the visit!
